Wolverines place 2nd at PAC Championships

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team earned runner-up honors at the two-day Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, held at Oak Tree Country Club Wednesday and Thursday. Grove City concluded play with 634 total strokes. Washington & Jefferson repeated as PAC champion with a 36-hole team score of 596. Thomas More (640), Waynesburg (646), Westminster (655) and Bethany (682) rounded out the field.

Three Grove City golfers earned Second Team All-PAC honors. Junior Tyler Fitch (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) placed ninth overall with a two-day total of 157. Sophomore Tyler Sorensen (Woodbridge, Conn./Amity) tied for 10th with a 158 while freshman Abram Stiffler Trappe, Md./Easton) took 14th with a 160.

Washington & Jefferson's Dave Richards earned medalist honors with a 76-70-146 while W&J head coach Peter Coughlin earned Coach of the Year.

Grove City's second-place finish is its best finish since placing second in 2002. The Wolverines won PAC men's golf titles in 1990, 1991, 1999 and 2000.
