Fitch earns 2nd at John Carroll
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Grove City College senior golfer Tyler Fitch (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) placed second overall at John Carroll University's Pat Flowers Invitational Saturday with an even-par score of 107 for 27 holes at Fowlers Mill Golf Course. Fitch fired a field-best 34 on the nine-hole Maple Course, then shot a 73 on the Lake-River Course.
Overall, Grove City placed 11th in the team standings with a cumulative score of 508. Host John Carroll won the event with 436.
Freshman Troy Demmer (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) tied for 37th with a score of 119.
The Wolverines return to action Monday afternoon at the Thiel Invitational in Greenville.
