Grove City wins MBA Invitational
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team wrapped up the 2008 season Monday afternoon by winning the Grove City McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club. Grove City posted a team score of 313. Penn State Altoona took second at 319, followed by Medaille (333) and Slippery Rock (345).
Senior Tyler Fitch (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) concluded his career at Grove City by earning medalist honors. Fitch shot a 75 to earn a one-stroke victory over senior teammate Brady Randall (Butler, Pa./Butler). Randall earned second place with a 76.
The event is named in honor of three gentlemen who have made a profound impact on Grove City College and its golf program: longtime trustee Milford "Miff" McBride, former golf coach and director of athletics R. Jack Behringer and longtime Grove City golf coach Bill Allen. This year's event was scheduled for April 14 but had to be rescheduled to due inclement weather that day.
