Wolverines compete at Saint Vincent
LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed eighth at the 15-team Saint Vincent Invitational Thursday afternoon at Latrobe Country Club. The Wolverines posted a team score of 328. Clarion won the team title with a 304. A total of eight strokes separated third-place Washington & Jefferson (323) from ninth-place California (Pa.), which shot a 331.
Freshman Andrew Shakely (Butler, Pa./Butler) tied for fourth overall with a round of 77. Sophomore Tim Kerr (Newtown, Conn./Homeschooled) tied for 16th with an 80. Saint Vincent's Doug Mehall earned medalist with a 71 while Clarion's Derek Forese took second with a 74.
Grove City will compete in the Thiel Invitational Saturday at The Greens of Greenville.
