Grove City takes 2nd at Thiel
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- In its final tune-up for the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, the Grove City College men's golf team earned second place at the six-team Thiel College Invitational Saturday at The Greens of Greenville. Grove City's "A" squad posted a team score of 321 to finish second behind Westminster (309). Grove City's "B" group finished sixth with a 357.
Sophomore Troy Demmer (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) took third overall in the field with a round of 78. Sophomore Joe Campanella (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) and freshman Ian Finney (Valencia, Pa./Mars) tied for fourth with 79s. Westminster's Jeff Skubick earned medalist with a 72.
Grove City will compete in the PAC Championships Monday and Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa.
