Wolverines compete at Capital Invite

LOCKBOURNE, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed 12th out of 16 teams at Capital University's two-day Purple and White Invitational at Foxfire Golf Club. The Wolverines accumulated a team score of 687 over 36 holes. Malone won the team title with a score of 604.

Grove City's "B" squad took 14th with a total score of 702.

Freshman Blake Brogan (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) led Grove City by tying for 32nd place with a two-day total of 165. Junior Troy Demmer (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) tied for 34th with a 166. Sophomore Kyle Wilson (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) led the "B" squad with a 166, tying him with Demmer for 34th place in the field.

A total of 91 golfers competed in the tournament. Malone's Tyler Light won medalist honors with a 70-79-149.

Grove City will compete in the Saint Vincent Invitational Thursday, April 15 in Latrobe, Pa.
