Grove City takes 3rd at PAC Championships

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team captured third place at the 2010 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club with a 72-hole team score of 1273. Grove City accumulated a team score of 324-322-646 Monday and Tuesday after recording a total of 627 in the 36-hole portion held last fall.

Thomas More won the team title with a score of 599-612-1211. Washington & Jefferson earned second with a 1227 cumulative total.

Two Grove City golfers earned Second Team All-PAC for their performance. Freshman Blake Brogan (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) earned 10th place overall with a two-day total of 154. Sophomore Ian Finney (Valencia, Pa./Mars) tied for 12th after posting a 36-hole score of 157.

Sophomore Will Moyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) finished 26th with a 167 and junior Troy Demmer (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) took 27th with a 168.

Grove City will host its annual McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational April 26 at Grove City Country Club.
