Grove City takes 2nd at PAC Fall Championships
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team captured second place overall at the 2010 Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Championships Monday and Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club. Grove City's five-man squad accumulated a team score of 636. Washington & Jefferson won the tournament with a 36-hole score of 613.
Junior Ian Finney (Valencia, Pa./Mars) fired a two-day score of 151 to finish third overall. Seniors Troy Demmer (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) and Matt Landin (Sugar Grove, Pa./Eisenhower) tied for 12th with 162s. Sophomore Blake Brogan (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) took 14th with a 163 and junior Will Moyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) placed 20th with a total of 166.
W&J's Brad Cieslinski earned medalist honors with a 145.
The stroke totals from the Fall Championships will be combined with the 36-hole scores from the 2011 PAC Championships April 26-27. All-conference honors will be determined solely by the spring tournament results.
Grove City will continue with the fall portion of its schedule October 4 at Westminster.
