Grove City 4th at conference championships
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed fourth at the eight-team Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, held Tuesday and Wednesday at Oak Tree Country Club. Grove City entered the two-day event with a team score of 636, established during the conference's Fall Championships. The Wolverines then posted respective team scores of 318 and 326 to finish with a total score of 1280 for 72 holes.
Washington & Jefferson won the team title with a score of 1233, followed by Thomas More (1267) and Saint Vincent (1276).
Junior Ian Finney (Valencia, Pa./Mars) led Grove City with a two-day score of 158, good for 11th overall. Freshman Conor Eckhardt (Strasburg, Ohio/Strasburg) shot a 159 to take 15th place.
Thomas More's Brandon Dulle earned medalist with a 148.
Westminster (1289), Thiel (1299), Bethany (1351) and Waynesburg (1363) rounded out the team standings.
Grove City concludes the 2011 season Monday by hosting the annual McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club.
