Grove City 5th at PAC Fall Invite
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed fifth out of eight teams at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club. The Wolverines accumulated a team score of 627 over 36 holes. Washington & Jefferson won the event with a 600, followed by Saint Vincent (605), Thiel (618) and Westminster (625).
Freshman Seth Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) paced Grove City by finishing third overall with a 148. Junior Matt Litton (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) earned eighth with a 151. Saint Vincent's Sam Cline won medalist honors with a 145.
The team scores from the Fall Invitational will carry over into the spring championships, scheduled for April 23-24, 2012. The individual scores do not count toward All-PAC honors, however. The All-Conference teams will solely be based upon the spring portion of the championships.
Grove City will compete in the Thiel Invitational Saturday, October 1.
