Grove City competes at CMU

PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed fifth at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational Thursday at the Longue Vue Club. The Wolverines finished the event with a team score of 332. NCAA Division II member California (Pa.) won the team title with a 294 while CMU finished second at 309. Washington & Jefferson (317) and Saint Vincent (324) rounded out the field.

Freshman Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) tied for eighth overall with a 77 while senior Will Moyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) tied for 20th with an 83. Carnegie Mellon's Ian Bangor earned medalist with a 71.

Grove City will conclude the 2012 season Monday by hosting its annual McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club.
