Grove City earns runner-up honors

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team concluded the 2012 season Monday afternoon by finishing second at its own McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club. The Wolverines accumulated a team score of 316 and trailed champion Saint Vincent by just one stroke.

Senior Will Moyer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy) paced Grove City by placing second overall with a 76. Freshman Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) tied for third with a 77. Notre Dame (Ohio)'s Zack Wax earned medalist honors with a 74.

The event is named in honor of three gentlemen who have made a profound impact on Grove City College and its golf program: longtime trustee Milford "Miff" McBride, former golf coach and director of athletics R. Jack Behringer and longtime Grove City golf coach Bill Allen.
