Grove City opens spring season

GALENA, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's golf team opened the spring portion of the 2012-13 schedule Friday and Saturday by competing in Capital University's Purple and White Invitational at Royal American Links. The Wolverines finished the 36-hole event with a team score of 651, good for 11th in the 13-team field. Ohio Dominican won the team title with a 605.

Sophomore Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) led Grove City's effort by tying for sixth with a two-day total of 151. He earned All-Tournament honors. Baldwin-Wallace's Adam Sanders earned medalist with a 146.

Grove City returns to action April 5-6 at the Muskingum Invitational.
