Grove City takes 3rd

PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College men's golf team took third at the four-team Carnegie Mellon Invitational Thursday at Longue Vue Country Club. The Wolverines finished with an aggregate score of 326. CMU won the event with a 315 while California (Pa.) placed second at 316. Saint Vincent took fourth at 333.

Sophomore Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) paced Grove City by tying for third overall with a 76. Sophomore Christian Locher (Mars, Pa./Mars) carded a 79 to place 10th in the 27-golfer field.

Carnegie Mellon's Ian Bangor won medalist honors with a 73.

Grove City will conclude the 2013 season Monday by hosting the McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club.
