Grove City takes 2nd; Locher earns individual title
NORTH EAST, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team captured second place overall Monday afternoon at the Penn State Behrend Invitational, held at Lake View Country Club. The Wolverines finished with a team score of 315. Penn State Behrend won the eight-team event with a 309.
Junior Christian Locher (Mars, Pa./Mars) won the individual title by carding a 74 on the par-72 course. Senior Conor Eckhardt (Strasburg, Ohio/Strasburg) and junior Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) tied for sixth with 78s.
Grove City will compete in the La Roche Invitational Saturday afternoon.
