Wolverines finish fifth at Saint Vincent Invite

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team posted a team score of 323 to finish fifth at the 11-team Saint Vincent Bearcat Invitational at the Latrobe Country Club on Thursday afternoon.

Junior Christian Locher (Mars, Pa./Mars) shot a 77 to lead the Wolverines and finish eighth overall in the 67-golfer field while senior Conor Eckhardt (Strasburg, Ohio/Strasburg) and junior Brian Giesler (Harrisville, Pa./Slippery Rock) each shot an 80 to tie for 12th.

Washington and Jefferson won the team title with a 312 while the Presidents' Hunter Bagiatis shot a 74 and won a playoff to edge Saint Vincent's Derek Lingafelt for medalist honors.

Grove City returns to action April 25-26 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships at the Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.
