Grove City wins Behrend Invite; McCook medalist
NORTH EAST, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team captured the team title at the Penn State Behrend Invitational, held Monday afternoon at Lake View Country Club. The Wolverines accumulated a team score of 317, as did runner-up Daemen. Grove City won the team title via fifth-score tiebreaker.
Freshman Cole McCook (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown STEM) won medalist honors by shooting a 74 on the par-72 course. McCook posted a two-shot margin of victory over Daemen's Paul Pitcher and Behrend's Nicholas Van Damia.
Freshman Nick Barber (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) tied for ninth with an 80.
Grove City returns to action Tuesday at the La Roche Invitational.
