Second title in as many days for Grove City

ALLISON PARK, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team won its second invitational title of the week Tuesday afternoon by taking the top spot at the La Roche Invitational, held at Wildwood Country Club. The Wolverines recorded a team score of 307, good for a nine-shot margin of victory over runner-up Saint Vincent.

Freshman Evan Hangliter (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) earned medalist honors by shooting a 74. He earned medalist via tiebreaker over Saint Vincent's Jake Reed, who also carded a 74.

Sophomore Anthony Smaldino (Butler, Pa./Vincentian) placed third with a 75 while freshman Cole McCook (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown STEM) tied for sixth with a 78. Sophomore Jorden Alfery (Cheswick, Pa./Fox Chapel) tied for ninth with an 80 to round out the four Wolverine counting scores.

Grove City returns to action next Monday at the Westminster Invitational.
