Wolverines compete at Westminster Invite
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed fifth out of nine teams Monday afternoon at the Westminster Invitational, held at New Castle Country Club. Grove City posted a team score of 333. Thiel won the team title with a 319, followed by Penn State Altoona (323), Westminster (327) and Saint Vincent (332).
Sophomore Anthony Smaldino (Butler, Pa./Vincentian Academy) paced Grove City by taking 10th place with an 81. Hiram's Austin Jenkins earned medalist with a 77.
Grove City will compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Championships at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon, Pa., Friday and Saturday.
