Grove City wins Thiel Invitational
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team captured the team championship at Saturday afternoon's Thiel Invitational, held at the The Greens of Greenville. Grove City finished with a team score of 307, edging host Thiel (309) by two strokes.
Freshman Cole McCook (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown STEM) tied for first overall in the 40-golfer field with a round of 73. He tied with Thiel's Jeff Jenkins.
Sophomore Anthony Smaldino (Butler, Pa./Vincentian) tied for fourth with a 76 while sophomore Jorden Alfery (Cheswick, Pa./Fox Chapel) took seventh with a 78.
Grove City will compete in the Bethany College Invitational in Wheeling, W.Va., Tuesday afternoon.
