Grove City College Men's Golf

WHEELING, W.Va. -- The Grove City College men's golf team rolled to a 304-427 victory over Bethany on Tuesday afternoon at the Wheeling Country Club.

Sophomore Jorden Alfery (Cheswick, Pa./Fox Chapel) and freshmen Cole McCook (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown STEM) and Ryan Koenig (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) all shot rounds of 75 to lead the Wolverines while sophomore Anthony Smaldino (Butler, Pa./Vincentian) posted Grove City's fourth counting score with a 79.

Freshman Nick Barber (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) recorded a 78 as an exhibition golfer, while sophomore Nate Guiler (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) matched Smaldino with a 79 in exhibition. Junior Austin Eckhardt (Strasburg, Ohio/Strasburg) and freshman Evan Hangliter (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) each posted rounds of 80 while sophomores Connor Grieb (Wexford, Pa./Homeschooled) and Connor Tipping (Harleysville, Pa./Christopher Dock) rounded out the Wolverine contingent with rounds of 83 and 85, respectively.

Grove City will compete at Saint Vincent this weekend. The Wolverines and Bearcats will face off in match-play competition on Friday at the Glengarry Golf Links before taking part in SVC's Doug Jones Memorial Invitational at Champions Lake on Saturday.
