April 23, 1999--After four consecutive runner-up finishes, Grove City
captured the championship title at the 1999 Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Golf
Championship, held at Oglebay's Speidel Golf Course in Wheeling, WV. The Wolverines
defeated five-time defending champion Washington & Jefferson by nine shots over 27
holes. Friday's final round was cut to nine holes due to rain. W&J's Matt
Henry (Bradenton, FL) earned medalist honors with a nine-over-par 116, four shots ahead of
Grove City's Nate Miklos (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Christian), who finished 13 over.
Grove City's first-year head coach John Marhefka was named PAC Coach of the Year.
The Wolverines last won the PAC crown in 1991.
