Koerber broke a scoreless tie in the 29th minute with an unassisted goal, his first of the season. Junior Andy Shockey (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) put the Wolverines ahead 2-0 at halftime with his third goal of the year in the 35th minute, off a pass from junior Jon Veschio (Mercer, PA/Mercer). Senior Cory Nordman (St. Chalres, IL/New Fairfield) struck with a goal in the early moments of the second half, assisted by sophomore Kevin Montgomery (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland). Koerber rounded out the scoring with his second goal in the 57th minute from junior Sam Coffman (Scottdale, PA/Southmoreland).
Sophomore Brad Smith (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) made four saves to post his third shutout of the season.
Grove City improved to 4-5 overall, 1-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while Thiel fell to 1-9-1 overall, 0-2 in the PAC.
