Wolverines pitch another shutout 

GROVE CITY, PA, October 1, 2001--Senior Chris Crefeld (Manchester, NJ/PTHS) headed in the game-winning goal in the second overtime period to lift the Grove City Wolverines past visiting Penn State Altoona, 1-0, Monday.

Crefeld netted his second game-winner of the season off a pass from junior Jon Veschio (Mercer, PA/Mercer) seven minutes into the second overtime session.  It marked Crefeld's fourth goal of the season, all coming in the last five games.

The Wolverines controlled the tempo from start to finish, out-shooting the Lions, 22-1. 

For the second game in a row, junior goalkeeper Brad Smith (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) recorded a shutout with having to make a single save.  

Grove City improved to 8-2 overall with its seventh shutout of the season, its fourth by a 1-0 margin.  Penn State Altoona fell to 5-3.
