GCC drops first PAC game 

BETHANY, WV, October 6, 2001--The Grove City College men's soccer team suffered its first league setback of the season Saturday, falling at Bethany College, 2-1.

The Bison opened the scoring with goals in the 29th and 34th minutes before the Wolverines accounted for the only goal of the second half off the foot of senior Geoff Swanson (Burlington, CT/The Master's School) in the 89th minute.  Senior Brian Williams (Charlotte, NC/First Assembly) assisted on Swanson's first goal of the season.

Bethany out-shot Grove City, 11-4.

Wolverine junior goalkeeper Brad Smith (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) was credited with four saves.

Grove City fell to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.  Bethany improved to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in the PAC.
