Wolverines net overtime win over Thiel

GROVE CITY, PA, October 29, 2001--Freshman Dan Bryan (Westfield, NY/Westfield Academy) buried a cross from sophomore Dustin King (Castalia, OH/Margaretta) 17 seconds into overtime Monday, giving the Grove City College men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over visiting Thiel College in the regular-season finale for both schools.

The Wolverines, now 3-0 in overtime games this fall, improved to 12-5-1 overall, marking the second-highest win total in the program's 62-year history.  Grove City won a school-record 16 games in 1996 and 12 in 1998.  

Thiel fell to 2-17 overall.

The Wolverines outshot the Tomcats, 21-4.

Top-seeded Grove City will open up play in the 2001 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at home Friday at noon against the winner of Wednesday's play-in between fourth-seeded Waynesburg and fifth-seeded Thiel.
