Pitt-Greensburg nips Wolverines in OT, 2-1
GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1, double-overtime decision to host Pitt-Greensburg Saturday afternoon, lowering Grove City to 1-1-1 on the season.
Grove City fell behind 1-0 in the 53rd minute but tied the match 12 minutes later on an unassisted goal from freshman Bob McNees (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk). McNees leads the team with two goals this fall.
Pitt-Greensburg scored in the second overtime, however. In goal, sophomore Joel Gladfelter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) had two saves. Grove City out-shot Pitt-Greensburg 18-16.
The Wolverines will host Waynesburg Wednesday in both the home and Presidents' Athletic Conference opener.
