Grove City 4-0 in PAC after blanking Titans
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team strengthened its hold on first place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 1-0 victory Wednesday at defending PAC champion Westminster.
Freshman Bob McNees (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) scored off a direct kick in the 63rd minute to give Grove City (5-2-1, 4-0 PAC) the lead and eventual win. It is McNees' team-best sixth goal of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Joel Gladfelter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) stopped six shots to preserve the shutout for the Wolverines. Westminster (2-6, 1-1 PAC) out-shot Grove City 11-9.
Grove City will complete the first half of its PAC schedule Saturday at Thiel. The match starts at 1 p.m.
