Pitt-Greensburg downs Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team erased a 2-0 halftime deficit but a late goal by Pitt-Greensburg's Adam Zeleznick propelled the visiting Bobcats past Grove City, 3-2, in non-conference action at College Field Saturday afternoon.

Junior Nate Jones (Haymarket, Va./Emmanuel Christian) cut UPG's lead in half in the 51st minute after a pass from senior Peter Williams (Charlotte, N.C./First Assembly). In the 64th minute, senior Jake Burns (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) tied the match with an unassisted goal.

However, Zeleznick scored his third goal of the match in the 73rd minute, putting Pitt-Greensburg back on top. In goal, junior Joel Gladfelter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) made five saves. Gladfelter received a red card in the 83rd minute for touching the ball outside of the box with his hand.

Junior Adam Ludwig (Farmington, N.M./Farmington) played the final seven minutes and made two saves. The Bobcats out-shot Grove City, 16-13.

Grove City (2-2) returns to action Wednesday at Lake Erie College.
