Grove City extends win streak to four

WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team extended its win streak to four Friday afternoon with a 1-0 victory at Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.

Sophomore Bob McNees (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) scored the game-winner in the 84th minute after an assist from senior Peter Williams (Charlotte, N.C./First Assembly). It is McNees' 13th goal of the year and his fourth straight game-winner.

Williams has assisted on all four of those game-winning goals. He now has a team-high seven assists this season.

In goal, junior Joel Gladfelter (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) stopped two shots. Grove City (8-5, 4-2 PAC) out-shot the Yellow Jackets 15-5.

Grove City will play its annual Alumni Game Saturday after inducting Richard Manley '67 and Travis Young '59 into the Men's Soccer Hall of Fame. The Wolverines return to intercollegiate action Monday at home against La Roche.
