Wolverines open PAC play with draw

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team battled Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Bethany (2-0-1, 1-0-1 PAC) to a 0-0, double-overtime draw at College Field Wednesday afternoon.

Bethany held a 14-13 edge in shots over Grove City (1-1-1, 0-0-1 PAC), although the Wolverines owned n 11-10 shot advantage in the second half. It is also Grove City's first shutout of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Manahan (State College, Pa./State College) made six saves in posting his first shutout.

It is Grove City's 41st shutout this decade. Grove City posted 10 shutouts in 2004.

Grove City will host new PAC rival Thomas More Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. It will be the 500th match as head coach for Grove City head coach Dr. Don Lyle (265-201-33).
