Behrend slips past Grove City
ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team fell to 4-2-1 overall Wednesday afternoon with a 2-1 loss at Penn State Behrend in non-conference action.
Grove City took a 1-0 lead into the intermission as junior forward Bob McNees (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) scored an unassisted goal at 37:25. Grove City carried that lead into the second half until Behrend's Jamie Thomas scored at 51:17. Behrend took the lead for good at 81:14 as Marco Loffreda-Mancilli scored an unassisted goal.
Behrend owned a 10-8 edge in shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Manahan (State College, Pa./State College) stopped four shots for the Wolverines.
Grove City returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference action Saturday at Westminster.
