Wolverines blank Thomas More

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team improved to 7-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 win over host Thomas More at the Town and Country complex.

Following a scoreless first half, Grove City broke through at the 62:18 mark as junior forward Bob McNees (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) scored the eventual game-winning goal, his team-leading 13th goal of the season. Senior Nate Jones (Haymarket, Va./Emmanuel Christian) supplied the assist, his fifth of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Manahan (State College, Pa./State College) earned the shutout victory with four saves. Grove City out-shot the Saints, 11-8. It is Grove City's fifth shutout this season. The win completes a season sweep for Grove City. The Wolverines downed Thomas More in Grove City, 3-0, Sept. 10.

The Wolverines will visit La Roche in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
