CMU tops Grove City
PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College men's soccer team fell to 8-4-3 Wednesday night with a 2-0 loss to Carnegie Mellon in non-conference action at Gesling Stadium.
The Tartans (10-1) scored twice in the first half. Sean Filipovitz scored 25 seconds into the match while William Schlough scored at the 40:00 mark. Carnegie Mellon out-shot Grove City, 23-5.
Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Manahan (State College, Pa./State College) stopped four shots for the Wolverines. The defeat snaps Grove City's six-match unbeaten streak.
Grove City will visit Bethany Saturday afternoon in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.
