W&J downs Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team fell to 1-2-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tuesday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to visiting Washington & Jefferson in a PAC match at College Field.

W&J (8-5-2, 3-0-1 PAC) took a 1-0 lead as Dan Hart scored at 26:41. The Presidents then broke the match open in the second half with three goals in a 14-minute span. Jeremy Delmaster scored off a corner kick at 48:47 while Hart scored his second goal of the match at 56:27.

Mike Pappas capped the scoring at 62:58 by scoring off a throw-in from Zach Williams. Williams recorded three assists for W&J.

For Grove City (4-7-4 overall), senior goalkeeper Michael Manahan (State College, Pa./State College) stopped three shots. W&J out-shot Grove City, 15-5, including an 11-0 margin in the second half.

The Wolverines will host Westminster Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in PAC action.
