OWU tops Grove City
DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to host Ohio Wesleyan Saturday night in the second day of competition in Ohio Wesleyan's adidas Invitational.
Ohio Wesleyan (4-0) took a 1-0 lead at 16:17 on a goal from Matt Bonfini. The Bishops then scored moments into the second half as Bonfini assisted Jordan Halloran's goal at 46:56. Ryan Harmanis added an insurance goal at 70:56 to close the scoring.
Junior goalkeeper Tim Lansing (Albany, N.Y./Loudonville Christian) stopped nine shots for Grove City (0-3-1). Senior back Jack Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pine-Richland) and junior Sean Osborne (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) earned All-Tournament honors for Grove City.
Ohio Wesleyan owned a 31-4 edge in shots.
Grove City will return to action Wednesday afternoon at Franciscan at 4 p.m.
