Cedarville tops Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team fell to 1-1 overall with a 2-0 setback against visiting Cedarville Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at College Field.
Grove City held the Yellow Jackets (2-1) scoreless before Cedarville broke the scoreless tie at the 63:33 mark on a goal from Ryan Chaney. Cedarville then doubled the lead on a goal by Ryan Thurman at 75:22.
Grove City senior goalkeeper Sean Osborne (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) stopped 10 shots. Cedarville outshot Grove City 31-5 and also had a 9-3 edge in corner kicks.
The series between the teams is now tied 1-1. Grove City won the first meeting between the teams in 1970.
The Wolverines will host Penn State Altoona Wednesday at 4 p.m. in non-conference action.
