Wolverines tie Altoona

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team is 1-1-1 in 2009 after battling visiting Penn State Altoona (2-1-1) to a scoreless tie in double overtime at College Field Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. It is the second straight season that Grove City and Altoona have played to a scoreless draw.

Grove City owned a 15-13 edge in shots although Penn State Altoona had a 3-1 edge in overtime. Penn State Altoona also had a 9-6 advantage in corner kicks. Neither team had a corner kick in overtime.

Senior goalkeeper Sean Osborne (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) recorded his seventh career shutout and second of the season by making six saves. Osborne's first career shutout came at Penn State Altoona last year.

Grove City is now 7-2-17 in its last 26 overtime matches, dating back to 2003.

The Wolverines will visit Hilbert Saturday at 3 p.m. in non-conference action.
