Thomas More tops Grove City

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 verdict to top-seeded Thomas More Wednesday afternoon in the semifinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at Bank of Kentucky Field. Grove City, the No. 4 seed, finishes the season with an 8-10-1 overall record.

Thomas More (16-2-1) took a 1-0 lead at 18:06 on a goal by Aaron Osborne. The Saints then doubled the lead just 45 seconds into the second half on a goal by Joey Tensing.

Osborne's second goal of the match sealed the win at 75:06.

Thomas More owned a 19-11 edge in shots, including an 11-4 advantage in the first half. Grove City did have a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

For Grove City, senior goalkeeper Sean Osborne (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) stopped four shots. Osborne finished the season with seven shutouts and a 1.41 goals-against average.

Grove City will lose Osborne and senior Joel Metz (Kittanning, Pa./Kittanning) to graduation. Thomas More will host either Washington & Jefferson or Westminster in the PAC Tournament title game Saturday.
