Wolverines blank Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team scored four minutes into Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference opener at Bethany and held for a 1-0 win over the Bison at muddy Hoag Field.

Junior Andrew Quinn (Damascus, Md./Damascus) put the Wolverines ahead 1-0 at the 4:00 mark with his team-leading fourth goal of the season. Sophomore Daniel Adams (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) assisted Quinn's goal.

Junior goalkeeper Caleb Koch (Gaithersburg, Md./Col. Zadok Magruder) stopped five shots to earn his second shutout of the season. Grove City outshot Bethany (2-7, 0-1 PAC) 17-12. The Wolverines also had 11 corner kicks, compared to five for Bethany.

Grove City is 5-1 in its last six matches. The Wolverines are also 4-2-3 in their last nine conference openers.

Grove City will visit Thomas More Tuesday at 4 p.m. in conference action.
