Grove City earns road win
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team improved to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over host Thiel in conference action at Alumni Stadium.
Grove City broke a scoreless tie at 83:33 when junior Andrew Quinn (Damascus, Md./Damascus) scored on a penalty kick. Grove City received the penalty kick after Thiel committed a handball violation in the box.
Grove City outshot the Tomcats (5-9-1, 0-4) 10-6 and also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
In goal, junior Caleb Koch (Gaithersburg, Md./Col. Zadok Magruder) stopped two shots to preserve the Wolverines' fifth shutout of the season.
Winners of five of their last six, the Wolverines host conference rival Washington & Jefferson Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at College Field.
