Loew, Shackleton lead four Wolverine All-PAC selections

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Senior forward Seth Loew (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and senior defender Tim Shackleton (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) both earned First Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors to lead four Grove City selections on the league's 2015 Men's Soccer all-conference teams, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.

Along with Loew and Shackleton, junior midfielder Dale Reese (Rocky Hill, Conn./Loomis Chaffee) earned All-PAC Second Team honors while senior goalkeeper Ben Weaver (York, Pa./Dallastown) received Honorable Mention.

Loew wrapped up an outstanding career with his best season as a Wolverine, leading the PAC with 18 goals -- the third-highest single-season total in program history -- and four game-winners. Just one of two Grove City players to start all 20 matches, Loew also ranked third in the conference with 43 total points and was tied for fourth with seven assists.

For his career, Loew finished as the second-leading scorer in program history with 108 points. He is the program's all-time assist leader with 22 and also ranks fourth in career goals with 43. He appeared in 78 matches over his four years with 70 starts and recorded nine game-winning goals.

A versatile player who saw time at both forward and midfield during his senior campaign before closing the season as an outside back, Shackleton played in all 20 matches for the Wolverines, starting 19. He ranked third in the PAC with a team-high eight assists and added a pair of goals to rank third on the team with 12 points.

Shackleton finished his career tied for fifth on Grove City's career assist list with 14. He also added eight goals for 30 career points while seeing action in 77 career matches with 57 starts.

Reese appeared in 18 matches and made 15 starts for the Wolverines in the midfield, finishing second on the team in both goals (5) and points (16) while ranking third with six assists. His two game-winning goals were also second-best on the team. Reese did the majority of his damage in conference play, ranking fifth in the league with 13 points in eight PAC matches.

Weaver started all 20 matches in goal for Grove City, posting a 12-7-1 record, a 1.16 goals-against average and a .783 save percentage. He recorded four solo shutouts and combined with sophomore Malcolm Blake (Moreland Hills, Ohio/Orange) for four additional shutouts. He allowed just seven goals in conference play to rank second in the PAC with a 0.94 GAA in eight conference matches.

For his career, Weaver finishes as Grove City's all-time record holder with 29 career wins in goal. He stands third in games played (53), games started (52) and minutes played (4617:51) while his 14 solo shutouts rank fourth all-time.

Thomas More's Austin Juniet earned the conference's Player of the Year award while Westminster head coach Girish Thakar received Coach of the Year recognition.

Grove City finished 12-7-1 overall and 6-2 in the conference. The Wolverines advanced to the conference tournament for the eighth-straight year and then reached the ECAC Division III South Semifinals after defeating Arcadia in the quarterfinals for their first postseason win since 2010.
