Grove City falls in semis

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to second-seeded Geneva Wednesday night in the semifinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.

Geneva (13-4-2) broke a scoreless tie at 78:03 when Jeb Nash scored his sixth goal of the season. He scored after receiving a cross from Austin Petrie.

For No. 3 seed Grove City (12-5-1), sophomore goalkeeper Caleb Koch (Gaithersburg, Md./Col. Zadok Magruder) stopped five shots, including four in the second half. Geneva owned a 14-6 edge in shots. The Tornadoes outshot Grove City 11-2 in the second half. Geneva also had a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Geneva will face top-seeded Thomas More in the conference finals Friday at 3 p.m. in Crestview Hills, Ky. Grove City will await a possible invitation to next week's Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.
