Behrend blanks Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Penn State Behrend Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at College Field.
Penn State Behrend (4-1) took a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Philip Broadus at 28:17. The Lions doubled the lead at 60:42 on an unassisted blast by Eric Vunovic.
Penn State Behrend closed the scoring at 87:52 when Jimmy Belack scored after a breakaway.
Behrend outshot Grove City, 20-11, and also had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. For Grove City, freshman goalkeeper Brenden Alfery (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) stopped four shots.
Grove City will visit Baldwin-Wallace Saturday at 1 p.m. in non-conference action.
