Grove City tops Baldwin-Wallace in OT

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 overtime victory over visiting Baldwin-Wallace (2-2-2) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at College Field.

Sophomore forward Seth Loew (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) broke the scoreless tie 8:05 into overtime when he scored on a penalty kick. Loew leads the team with four goals.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ben Weaver (York, Pa./Dallastown) earned the shutout victory for Grove City (2-3-1) by stopping seven shots. Baldwin-Wallace outshot Grove City 22-14 and each team had five corner kicks. Tyler Beaton stopped five shots for Baldwin-Wallace.

Grove City last won a match on an overtime penalty kick October 29, 2011 when Andrew Quinn scored to give the Wolverines a 3-2 win at Westminster. Weaver is now 2-0-1 in goal and owns an 0.30 goals-against average.

Grove City visits Muskingum Wednesday at 4 p.m. in non-conference play.
