October 17, 1998--Freshman Mike Bluman (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored a goal off a pass from freshman goalkeeper Todd Smart (Christianburg, VA/Christianburg) in the 36th minute to lead Grove City College past visiting Alfred University, 1-0, on Saturday.

Smart made six saves in his first collegiate start to preserve the Wolverines' third straight victory and eighth win in their last 11 games.

Grove City, 9-6 overall, plays at Lake Erie College next Wednesday, October 21, at 3:00 p.m.
