Thomas More tops Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team fell to 4-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by dropping a 3-0 decision Wednesday afternoon to visiting Thomas More (13-1-1, 5-0) in conference action at College Field.

Thomas More, ranked sixth in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III poll, grabbed a 1-0 lead at 22:01 when Austin Juniet scored an unassisted goal.

The Saints doubled the lead at 34:29 when Brian Runyon headed in a Juniet cross. Thomas More then closed the scoring at 56:19 on a goal by Eli Nienaber. Juniet also assisted that goal and now has a conference-best 19 assists.

Thomas More outshot Grove City (9-5-1, 4-2 PAC), 11-9. Each team recorded five corner kicks. In goal, senior Ben Weaver (York, Pa./Dallastown) recorded one save.

Grove City had won four straight matches prior to Wednesday. The Wolverines will visit Thiel for a conference match at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Greenville.
