Grove City 6, Thiel 0

September 21, 1998--Senior Greg Lucht (Erie, PA/Fairview) scored three goals and assisted on another as the Grove City College men's soccer team defeated visiting Thiel College Monday, 6-0.  The Wolverines, winners of three straight, improved to 4-3 overall (2-0 PAC), while the Tomcats fell to 0-4 (0-2 PAC).

Lucht, who raised his season goal total to five, was assisted on all three goals by freshman Brian Williams (Charlotte, NC/First Assembly).  Lucht assisted on the Wolverines' first goal off the foot of junior Adam Seybold (Grove City, PA/Grove City).

Freshman Andy Shockey (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) netted two goals -- his second and third goals of the year -- off passes from sophomore Andrew Costello (Seaford, VA/York) and freshman Chris Crefeld (Pequannock, NJ/Pequannock).

Grove City out-shot Thiel 21-1.

The six goals marked the Wolverines' best offensive showing since the seventh game of the 1996 season when they downed Pitt-Bradford, 8-1 (32 games).
