Grove City College established its Men's Soccer Hall of Fame in 2001. 

Class of 2014

Adam Headrick (Class of 1996) -- Headrick earned four letters at stopper from 1991 to 1994. He earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors in each of his four seasons, including First Team honors in 1993 and 1994. He twice earned the team's Most Valuable Player award as well as the program's David Brian Henson Memorial Award.

Sam Coffman (Class of 2002) -- Coffman lettered at stopper in each of his four seasons (1998-2001) at Grove City. He earned First Team All-PAC honors in both 1999 and 2001 and captured Second Team laurels in 1998 and 2000. Coffman earned Second Team All-Region distinction and team MVP as a senior after helping Grove City to a 7-1 league mark and a berth in the ECAC Championship Tournament.

Class of 2013

Tom Fleming (Class of 1975) -- Fleming earned three letters at stopper, sweeper and outside back for Grove City from 1971-74. As a junior in 1973, Fleming earned Honorable Mention All-West Penn Intercollegiate Soccer Conference (WPISC) recognition. He then co-captained the 1974 squad and earned First Team All-WPISC as a senior. His teammates selected him as the team's Most Valuable Player.

Harvey Miller (Class of 1940) -- Miller played on the first two varsity men's soccer teams at Grove City in 1938 and 1939. He lettered in 1939 after helping Grove City to a 2-2 record. He became a Trustee of the College in 1963 and currently serves as Trustee Emeritus. In 2009, Miller received the inaugural Grove City College Athletic Heritage Award in recognition of his lifelong service to the College.

Matthew Towle (Class of 1993) -- Towle started all four seasons in goal for Grove City (1989-92) and compiled a 1.05 goals-against average for his career. He earned First Team All-WPISC and First Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference in each of his final three seasons. He also earned the team's Outstanding Junior award in 1991 and team MVP as a senior captain in 1992.

Class of 2012

Paul Fletcher (Class of 1966) -- Fletcher lettered in each of his four seasons from 1962 to 1965. He co-captained the 1965 team that went 8-0-1 and earned an invitation to the NCAA Championship Tournament. As a senior, he finished fourth on the team with five goals and earned All-Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware recognition at right halfback. During his career, the Wolverines went 29-7-2, including a 17-0-1 mark his last two seasons. The 1964 team went 9-0, including a victory over the University of Pittsburgh.

Christos Takoudes (Class of 1960) -- Takoudes earned three letters for Grove City from 1957 to 1959. He began his career at forward before moving to right wing. During those three seasons, Takoudes emerged as one of the Wolverines' top offensive threats. Grove City went 15-9-1 in his three seasons, concluding a decade of Grove City excellence that featured no losing seasons.

Class of 2011

Ross Carnes (Class of 1970) -- Carnes started in goal for Grove City from 1967 to 1969. As a senior, he helped Grove City tie program records for single-season wins (9) and shutouts (5). A three-year letterman, he finished his career with 10 shutouts. During his three years as a starter, Grove City compiled a 21-7 mark with Carnes in the lineup. He earned recognition as one of the region's top goalkeepers -- regardless of division -- and following his senior year, head coach Cliff Wettig nominated Carnes for All-America consideration.

Chuck Harrington (Class of 1973) -- Harrington earned three letters at left fullback for Grove City from 1970 to 1972. He capped his career by becoming the first Grove City player to earn Regional All-America honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, following the 1972 season. Harrington also received First Team All-Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Soccer Conference in 1972. As a sophomore in 1970, Harrington's defensive work helped the Wolverines tie a single-season program record with five shutouts.

Class of 2010

Alex Eggers (Class of 1951) -- Eggers earned four letters for Grove City from 1947 to 1950. After playing goalkeeper as a freshman, he played forward in his final three years. Eggers scored against Carnegie Tech in the season finale to secure the Wolverines' first undefeated season (5-0-3) in 1948. In 1950, Eggers helped lead Grove City to a 6-2 record as the Wolverines set a new record for wins in a single season.

David Howard (Class of 1981) -- Howard earned four letters for Grove City from 1977 to 1980 and helped the Wolverines to one of the program's finest four-year stretches. In 1979, Howard earned the team's Most Outstanding Junior award after helping lead Grove City to a 10-2 mark. As a senior, he captained the 1980 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Howard earned the team's MVP award along with First Team All-WPISC. He also earned Honorable Mention Regional All-America from the NSCAA.

Class of 2009

Bob Bishop (Class of 1966) -- Bishop started all four seasons as a center forward and wing for Grove City from 1962 to 1965. He led Grove City in scoring in each of his last three seasons. He helped lead Grove City to a 9-0-0 record in 1964 and an 8-0-1 mark as a senior captain in 1965.Bishop earned Second Team All Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware as a junior before earning First Team recognition as a senior.

Glenn Zembower (Class of 1948) -- Zembower earned three letters for Grove City while playing inside right (midfield) from 1945 to 1947. He helped Grove City to a 10-7-4 record during his career. As a senior in 1947, he captained the team and led Grove City in scoring. Zembower also served as class president during his freshman and sophomores years as a student-athlete.

Class of 2008

Phil Donatelli (Class of 1977) -- Donatelli captained Grove City's 1976 squad that advanced to the NCAA Championship Tournament quarterfinals. That year, the Wolverines set a program record with 10 victories. A versatile player during his career at Grove City, he lettered three years as a midfielder, back and forward from 1973-76. The Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Soccer Conference (WPISC) honored Donatelli as First Team All-Conference following both his junior and senior seasons.

Greg Kreutzberg (Class of 1997) -- Kreutzberg earned four letters as a center forward from 1993-96. As a senior co-captain in 1996, Kreutzberg scored a school-record 25 goals and helped the Wolverines to a share of their first-ever Presidents' Athletic Conference title. The Wolverines finished 16-2 overall, set a new program record for single-season wins and won the ECAC Southern Championship. Kreutzberg finished the season with 55 points and earned NSCAA All-Region honors along with the PAC's Most Valuable Player award in 1996.

Class of 2007

Bill Buchanan (Class of 1966) -- Buchanan earned four letters as a halfback from 1962-65. As a senior co-captain in 1965, Buchanan helped lead the Wolverines to an 8-0-1 overall record, including an invitation to the NCAA Championship Tournament. As a freshman in 1962, he helped Grove City advance to its first-ever NCAA Tournament. During his four years at Grove City, the Wolverines compiled a 29-7-2 overall record, including a 17-0-1 mark in his last two years. The 1964 team went 9-0-0, the best record, percentage-wise, in Grove City history.

Angelo Mariotti (Class of 1978) -- Mariotti earned four letters at right back in the mid-1970s for Grove City, helping the Wolverines secure four consecutive winning seasons. In 1976, Mariotti played a pivotal role in Grove City advancing to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament quarterfinals. Grove City posted the first double-digit win total in program history in 1976, finishing 10-3-1. He received the Procopio award as a freshman and earned First Team honors from the West Penn Intercollegiate Soccer Conference as a senior and capped his career as a student-athlete by receiving the College's ODK/Mortar Board Sportsman of the Year award.

Gary Tissue (Class of 1980) -- Tissue helped Grove City to one of its most successful four-year runs ever from 1976-79. During that time, Grove City compiled an aggregate 39-11-2 mark. In 1979, Tissue captained Grove City's 10-2 squad. He also played on the 1976 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament. For his play at back, Tissue earned First Team All-WPISC and Honorable Mention All-America honors as a senior. A three-year letterman, he also earned Grove City's Sportsman of the Year award for the 1979-80 academic year.

Class of 2006

Vaughn "Stu" Irwin (Class of 1953) -- Irwin lettered all four season as a goalkeeper for Grove City from 1949-52. Known for both his leadership and athleticism, Irwin started in goal for the Wolverines during their first undefeated season. That year, 1952, Grove City went 6-0-0. Irwin posted three shutouts and allowed just five goals during the year. For his career, Irwin allowed just 1.2 goals per match. Grove City went 16-7-5 during his career.

Jon Bornholm (Class of 1978) -- Bornholm twice earned the program's Most Valuable Player award during his career (1974-77). In 1976, Bornholm's work as Grove City's defensive anchor helped the Wolverines advance to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals. He received the team's outstanding junior award in 1976. In 1977, Bornholm earned First Team All-West Penn Intercollegiate Soccer Conference honors and NSCAA Honorable Mention Regional All-America honors.

Dr. Don Lyle -- In 34 years as head coach, Lyle led Grove City to 277 victories, three conference titles and six postseason berths. The 1976 team advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals while the 1996 Grove City squad captured the ECAC Southern Championship. In his final year as head coach, 2005, Grove City won an outright Presidents' Athletic Conference title and advanced to the finals of the ECAC Southern Championship Tournament. He also played a major role in the development of youth soccer in the area and for his community efforts, Lyle also received the College's Florence McKenzie Campus-Community Award in 1988.

Class of 2005

Jim Pontier (Class of 1968) -- Pontier lettered all four seasons in the mid-1960s at Grove City, helping Grove City accumulate a 30-5-2 record during his career. He helped Grove City post undefeated seasons in both 1964 (9-0-0) and 1965 (8-0-1). Pontier played forward during the perfect 1964 season, then switched to center halfback during his final two seasons. He helped the Wolverines secure 13 shutouts in that four-year period.

Phil Ahlschlager (Class of 1975) -- Ahlschlager earned four letters from 1971-74, serving as team co-captain in 1974. Ahlschlager earned the team's Most Valuable Junior award in 1973 and was a three-time All-Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Soccer League selection. He was selected to try out for the 1975 Pan American Games and the 1976 Olympic Games. In 1975, Ahlschlager was named as an Outstanding College Athlete of America.

Class of 2004

Travis Young (Class of 1959) -- Young earned a pair of letters at fullback in the late 1950s at Grove City, helping the Wolverines accumulate a 23-7-1 record from 1955-58. He captained the 1958 team as a senior, leading Grove City to a 5-2-1 record -- the program's ninth consecutive winning season. That season, Young helped Grove City end Oberlin's 56-match unbeaten streak with a 2-1 home victory. Young capped his career by earning All-Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware distinction as well as the College's ODK Sportsman of the Year award.

Richard Manley (Class of 1967) -- A four-year letterman at goalkeeper from 1963-66, Manley anchored the Wolverine defense during that era as Grove City accumulated a 30-4-2 record during his career. Manley helped lead the Wolverines to a 9-0-0 mark as a sophomore. During his career, Manley earned All-Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware honors while holding opponents to just 0.7 goals per game. Manley punctuated his career by earning the College's ODK Sportsman of the Year award in 1967.

Class of 2003

Scott Johnston (Class of 1955) -- As one of the premier defenders of the 1950s, Scott Johnston was the anchor of a defensive group that consistently produced winners on the field.  In his four years as a letterman, the teams he played on lost only three of 28 games.  He was one of the defensive standouts during the first undefeated and untied soccer season in 1952.  Johnston capped his senior season by earning Sportsman of the Year recognition at Grove City College.

James Foraker (Class of 1958) -- When Jim Foraker scored 10 goals in 8 games, he was only a freshman.  As a four-year varsity letterman, he was one of the premier forwards of the 1950s.  In his junior year he was an instrumental component of the undefeated, untied season but Foraker capped his senior season in 1957 by scoring 14 goals; moreover, his goals and assists as a senior accounted for 70 percent of the Wolverine offense. Foraker was also a recipient of the Sportsman of the Year Award at Grove City College.

Class of 2002

Charles Slemmons (Class of 1953) -- As a defensive standout for the Wolverines, Charles Slemmons always seemed to be where the ball was.  He was energy, endurance, intensity, leadership, and ability in one pair of shoes.  During his tenure as a player, the soccer team lost only seven matches and recorded an undefeated season.  More specifically, he was the heart, soul, and captain of Grove City College's first undefeated and untied soccer season in 1952.

Ross Emerson (Class of 1957) -- Ross Emerson was a powerful striker who held Grove City's career scoring record for 50 years, having scoring 48 goals in his four years. Over a career of 27 collegiate games, he had a remarkable average of 1.8 goals per game, the highest per-game average in College history. He is also the only Grove City College player to be part of two undefeated and untied soccer seasons ('52 and '56) at Grove City College.  A prolific goal scorer, Emerson was remembered for his quiet intensity and his ability to lead by example.

Class of 2001

Peter Buttner (Class of 1961) -- A native of Germany, Buttner played center for Grove City and earned First Team All-American honors in both 1958 and 1959. Truly one of the all-time greats in Grove City history, Buttner also earned All-East recognition in 1959. As a senior, he was invited to play in the North-South All-Star game, where he scored a pair of goals and earned the game's Most Valuable Player award. 

William Juergens (Class of 1987) -- A three-time team captain at stopper, Juergens earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors in 1984, 1985 and 1986. As a junior, Juergens earned the team's Most Valuable Player award while in his senior year, he helped Grove City tie its school record with 11 victories. Juergens capped his senior season by earning First Team All-Region and Second Team All-America recognition. 

Matthew Lux (Class of 1970) -- Lux led Grove City to a 29-10 mark in his four seasons at Grove City. During his senior season, the Wolverines went 9-2, including a victory over nationally-ranked Pitt. As a senior, Lux earned team MVP honors, National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCA) All-Region laurels and Second Team All-America at the fullback position. Lux also received the Omicron Delta Kappa Sportsmanship Award as a senior. 

John Mulholland (Class of 1965) -- An honorable mention All-American in 1963, Mulholland helped lead Grove City to an undefeated 9-0 season in 1964, a mark that is still the best in school history. A steady and reliable left fullback, Mulholland helped anchor a defense that limited Grove City's opponents to just 0.78 goals per match in 1964. In '64, Grove City blanked five opponents and also knocked off the University of Pittsburgh, 6-3. 

Frank Sbrocco (Class of 1957) -- Sbrocco played forward for the Wolverines from 1953-1956. As a junior, he earned NSCA All-Region honors. As a senior captain, Sbrocco helped lead Grove City to an undefeated season in 1956. In his career, Grove City posted a 25-4 record, not losing more than two matches in one season. He became the first Grove City player to earn All-America status, earning honorable mention honors as a senior.

Robert E. Thorn -- A legend in Grove City College athletics history, Thorn spent 17 seasons (1938-1956) as head soccer coach at Grove City College. As head coach, Thorn compiled a 72-28-15 (.691) record. Thorn led three teams to undefeated seasons. The 1948 squad went 5-0-3 while the 1952 (6-0-0) and 1956 (7-0-0) squads posted perfect records. In addition to coaching the soccer team, Thorn was athletic director from 1920-1957. He also coached the tennis team for 23 years, basketball for 19 years and spent one season as head football coach. The College's football and track and field complex is named in his honor. 

Clifford Wettig -- Wettig spent nine seasons (1962-1970) as head soccer coach at Grove City. His .753 winning percentage is tops among Grove City soccer coaches. Under his direction, Grove City went 65-20-4, including two undefeated seasons. The 1964 team went 9-0-0 while the 1965 squad compiled an 8-0-1 mark. During a three-year span (1964-66), Wetting led the Crimson and White to a 24-1-2 aggregate record. As head coach, Wettig coached All-Americans John Mulholland and Matthew Lux. Wettig also coached tennis and basketball while at Grove City.
