GCC men 2nd at Allegheny Sprint Invite

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Bob Young (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) picked up an individual title and added another win in the 200 free relay, helping the Grove City College men's swim team place second at the Allegheny College Sprint Invitational Friday night. The Wolverine men collected 290 team points.

Young won the 100 backstroke in 55.26 and took second in the 100 freestyle, posting a time of 49.79. Young, Andrew Gilbert (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga), Matt Gibson (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Ryan McCracken (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) each contributed a leg to Grove City's victorious effort in the 200 free relay. The Wolverine quartet posted a time of 1:31.73.

In addition, Gilbert claimed third in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.86) while Young, Gilbert, Gibson and Matt Ziders (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) earned a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:41.58).
